  • While I offer a quick package for couples who just want to get legally married without their story to be told, my most popular service is custom ceremony writing and officiating. I meet with couples multiple times to really get to know them and craft words that speak to who they are. I often talk about the couple’s story, what marriage means to them, and give my own take on why their marriage will be strong. Custom ceremonies may also include special readings and/or unity ceremonies.

  • My ceremonies vary based on each couple’s needs and wants. On average, most have run between 20 and 30 minutes.

  • In Minnesota, the couple must apply for a marriage license which allows a marriage to take place. Licenses can be obtained no more than 6 months prior to the wedding date.

    Couples apply by visiting their county’s records office. Any MN county license permits marriages in any MN county. You will bring your license to the ceremony where I and two witnesses will sign it.

    All of my packages include me filing your license for you. After a few weeks, you should receive your official marriage certificate in the mail.

  • The formal exchanging of vows is the heart of any wedding ceremony. I have encouraged my couples to choose vow options that speak to who they are. Some of my couples have asked me to write or provide vows for them, others have written full speeches to one another. We will talk about what is best for you!

  • While I am a licensed officiant who can perform legal marriages, I am not affiliated with a particular religion. I have worked with couples to add as many religious elements as they want. Some have asked for religious readings, others haven’t wanted any religion mentioned. It is very important to me that my ceremonies perfectly reflect my couples' values and relationship.
